The NADO Research Foundation is pleased to announce the 2018 Professional Development Webinar Series, scheduled to run from May through November. These webinars will provide an in-depth look at the latest news and trends affecting regional development organization management, staffing and reporting.
Topics will include accounting standards, board engagement, new executive director training, social media strategies, and much more. Each webinar will be led by an expert in the field who will provide best practices and examples as well as answer any questions you may have about how best to support your organization.
The first webinar in the series, FASB New NFP Reporting Standards, will occur May 17, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m.
Led by Jackie Bryant, a partner with Tate & Tryon, the webinar will cover key changes to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) that are intended to simplify and improve how a not-for-profit organization classifies its net assets, as well as the information it presents in financial statements and notes about its liquidity, financial performance, and cash flows. Not-for-profit entities with fiscal years that begin after December 15, 2017 are subject to these changes. Many RDOs have established 501 (c) (3) entities to allow them to enhance their regional development work. Training will cover key changes in net asset classes, investment returns, expense reporting, statement of cash flow, liquidity, and availability.
Pre-registration is required. Each webinar is priced at $99 for NADO members and $198 for non-members. Additional webinars will be added once finalized.
